| Long Beach Unified Passes Comprehensive CHPS Resolution |
CHPS welcomes Long Beach Unified School District as the newest CHPS District! Long Beach joins 26 other districts requiring the use of the CHPS Criteria in district projects. As part of their Facilities Master Plan, the Long Beach USD School Board passed a comprehensive resolution committing that all new schools, major modernizations and relocatables will meet or exceed the minimum requirements of the CHPS high performance school Criteria.
Anticipating the positive impact for the students of the school district, Board President Dr. Felton Williams noted the “ability to adopt and incorporate the CHPS criteria in all future facilities work was a reasonable approach that at the same time supports the district’s shared values and goals and keeps the District in a leadership position among other proactive and visionary school districts in the State of California.” To read the district's complete resolution click here.
