High Performance Features
Project is a 2 Story New Building. Brea Olinda High School Expansion Building will be a new 32,000sf, 2 story building containing science laboratories, classrooms, consumer education classrooms, and a staff workroom. The overall energy performance of the building exceeded Title-24 by 30%. The new building is oriented to take advantage of natural daylighting. Translucent glazing units with a honeycomb core, clerestory windows and skylights are utilized to draw daylight deeper into the space. A “cool” roof, wall and roof insulation, and Low-E glazing keep heat gain out of the building. All classrooms have daylight sensors and occupancy sensor lighting controls as some of the energy saving features.
