What are the benefits of becoming CHPS Designed?
  • CHPS Designed is ideal for a school district or design teams first attempt at including the CHPS Criteria into a school project, when the design team is trying to include the CHPS Criteria late into a project or for school districts with limited need for an independent project review.
  • Accountability of a CHPS Designed project rests on the school district and design team. CHPS Oversight and Scorecard Screen - CHPS staff will be available for non-CCI questions and will screen the CHPS Design Scorecard for completeness prior. Recognition - CHPS will recognize each participating project on its website.
  • CHPS Designed helps design teams manage the points that they are claiming through a project scorecard. This scorecard is a useful tool for school districts and CHPS project managers to monitor compliance with the CHPS credits and prerequisites. The scorecard offers a checklist for points earned, and can be used to designate responsible team members and track compliance with credits.

How much does it cost to participate?
There is no fee to participate in the CHPS Designed Program.

What are the requirements, deadlines and how do I register?

There are two steps to becoming a CHPS Design project.

Step 1. Download the CHPS Designed Scorecard & Register Your Project.

Based on your project type, download the CHPS Designed Scorecard for either new school construction, or a modernization and new building project. The Scorecards are Excel files with three worksheets:1) scorecard directions, 2) scorecard, and 3) team member worksheet. (The original 2002 scorecard was developed by Los Angeles Unified School District under a grant from the California Energy Commission and U.S. Department of Energy Rebuild America Program.)
