CHPS is Ten Years Old and We'll Be Celebrating All Year
CHPS is 10! (Happy Birthday Us!)
CHPS E-Bulletin, June 29, 2012
It's time to start the celebration! For the last ten years, the Collaborative for High Performance Schools has been changing the way people think about what schools can be. For the last decade, we have been pushing boundaries and giving schools across the country the tools they need to make healthier, greener, and better school buildings for their students and staff. Today we are kicking off our 10-year celebration with a new look to our social media and a year-long celebration of where high performance schools have come in the last ten years. We'll be celebrating throughout the year with special events, new tools, swag, and shout-outs to the people who have helped to make CHPS what is over the last decade and are defining where we are going.
We start by honoring someone who has been pivotal to the changes that CHPS has gone through in the last five years. Since 2007, Chip Fox, from San Diego Gas and Electric, has served as the Chair of the CHPS Board of Directors. During Chip's tenure, CHPS has undergone some of our most important expansions, such as becoming a national organization in 2008, adding CHPS Criteria in Texas, Colorado, Virginia, and Hawaii, and developing new programs like CHPS Verified, the CHPS Core Criteria, the Operations Report Card, and the High Performance Product Database. Chip stepped down as Board Chair at the June 2012 Board of Directors meeting - though he will remain on the board - and handed over the reins to incoming Board Chair Jim Ogden.
Ongoing (Sacramento, CA) . CHPS is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. ~order=2012-07-01
