Please join us in supporting National Healthy Schools Day on April 6, 2021

Coordinated by Healthy Schools Network in partnership with many agencies and organizations, the focus this year is clean air in every school.

We are at a critical juncture: the nation is working to recover and stabilize from the COVID-19 pandemic, reopen all schools, and address the growing crisis caused by climate impacts – impacts that hit the most disadvantaged communities hardest. Schools are also pressed to clean up after too many years of institutional and facility neglect.

"The pandemic has created challenges around every corner when it comes to the design and construction of high performance schools. Even more so with the maintenance of existing schools," said CHPS Managing Director Elisabeth Krautscheid. "Yet at the same time, it has only strengthened the resolve of our members, partners and school teams who report they have been busier than ever. It's crucial that we continue this collaborative mission to create healthy learning environments for our children and our future."

Since 2002, parents, teachers, school nurses, custodians, advocates, and agencies have promoted National Healthy Schools Day activities nationwide. Whether you are at the beginning stages of investigating school environments or have an established Indoor Air/Environmental Quality program, we invite you to host a local activity that educates others and celebrates your school’s successes.
