Nancy is an experienced Project Management Professional and LEED AP whose work within higher education, K-12 schools and the private sector focuses on the value of sustainable building practices. Before joining CHPS as a contracted Project Reviewer, Nancy spent 16 years in higher education directing capital planning, construction, and facility operations. A five-year stint as a LEED Project Manager for an international general contractor gave Nancy insights into the general contractor’s methods of materials procurement, building system integration and the complexities of a privately funded mega-build. After a successful career helping drive sustainable building development, Nancy joined Washington State’s Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. She served for 7 years as the Coordinator for Washington’s K-12 High-Performance Schools Program, a program that began in 2006 with a sustainable building criterion modeled after CHPS. Nancy is a Washington State University Master Gardner, a great cook and prefers to spend time outdoors, doing anything at all, whenever possible.
