The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) is pround to announce another California school project has earned CHPS Verified status.
The project, designed/built by Gelfand Partners Architects and Cahill Contractors, converted an existing elementary school into a TK-8 school. The high performance environment was built to accomodate growth and enhance healthy learning with flexible classrooms, indoor-outdoor connectivity and sustainable materials.
Emphasis was also placed on daylighting, natural ventilation and energy/water conservation. EMS-controlled high-efficiency boiler units and fan coli units as well as daylight harvesting lighting are some of the key technical features.
Subconsultants on the project included: Project Frog, Carroll Engineering, KPW Structural Engineers, YEI Engineers, HYT Corporation, Charles M Salter Associates, and The Marshall Associates.
