Mohawk Group joins forces with CHPS

The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) is excited to announce that Mohawk Group has signed on to its new Minor Renovations Program.

The flooring company will be a Catalyst-level sponsor for this new program, which was launched in August 2023 alongside government partner Sourcewell. Mohawk will play a key role in developing the flooring component of the Minor Renovations Program.

The program is designed to create national project standards to help schools across the country complete smaller but just-as-critical renovation projects according to interdisciplinary best practices that ensure all students have access to healthy learning environments. In addition to flooring, HVAC and lighting projects will be initial areas of focus.

“We are extremely excited to announce our partnership with the CHPS organization and eagerly anticipate the harmonization of our mutual objectives, aiming to enhance the safety and sustainability of educational institutions for both students and faculty,” said Cyndie Goss, Mohawk’s Senior Director for Education Strategy.

Mohawk joins flooring company Tarkett, designer Quattrocchi Kwok Architects (QKA) and engineering firm Salas O’Brien as key sponsors.

“This is how we are going to elevate our national school infrastructure: working together not as competitors, but as collaborators,” said CHPS Executive Director Craig Schiller. “I want to personally thank and commend Mohawk for joining CHPS in developing the Minor Renovations Program in an interdisciplinary and cooperative manner that will ensure its success!”

Los Angeles Unified and Cypress-Fairbanks (TX) Independent school districts have committed to participate in the development of the program, and we are seeking more.

If you’re interested in joining these great firms as a sponsor or partner, you can find out more about this new program and view a recording of an introductory webinar by visiting our Minor Renovations webpage. You can also email us at info@chps.net. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
