DalTile signs on to Minor Renovations
The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) is excited to announce that DalTile Corporation has signed on to its Minor Renovations Program.
The flooring company will be a Catalyst-level sponsor/partner for this new program, which was launched in August 2023 alongside government partner Sourcewell. DalTile will play a key role in developing the flooring component of the Minor Renovations Program.
The program is designed to create national project standards to help schools across the country complete smaller but just-as-critical renovation projects according to interdisciplinary best practices that ensure all students have access to healthy learning environments. In addition to flooring, HVAC and lighting projects will be initial areas of focus.
“DalTile has a commitment and dedication to fostering healthier, sustainable and more inviting learning spaces throughout our nation’s schools,” said Taylor Lewis, Senior Architecture Representative for DalTile. “We hope our partnership in the Minor Renovations Program with CHPS will assist us in achieving our goal of leaving a lasting impression on students, educators and communities.”
DalTile joins fellow flooring companies Tarkett and Mohawk Group, designer Quattrocchi Kwok Architects (QKA) and engineering firm Salas O’Brien as key sponsors.
“We are thrilled to have DalTile as a partner for the Minor Renovations program,” said Jen Collins, who joined CHPS this year as Program Director. “Greater diversity in industry knowledge among our partners will significantly enhance the program's impact within our schools!”
DalTile is dedicated to helping CHPS create a one-stop-shop school infrastructure.
“This stems from a profound understanding of the pivotal role educational environments play in shaping futures,” said Lewis. “This collaborative effort not only simplifies the implementation of sustainable, high-quality infrastructure but also ensures that every student has access to a safe, conducive learning environment.”
Los Angeles Unified, Cypress-Fairbanks (TX) Independent, and Clark County (NV) school districts have committed to participate in the development of the program, and we are seeking more.
