CHPS is governed by a Board of Directors which has the responsibility and authority to set the organization’s policies and guide its strategy. Board members come from diverse backgrounds and represent a broad range of government, industry, and nonprofit organizations but share a strong passion for CHPS’ mission.

  • Roy Sprague

    BOARD CHAIR

    Retired (2023) COO — Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District; Current Senior VP — Prolego Consulting Solutions

    Cypress Fairbanks ISD is the third largest school district in the state of Texas and the 22nd largest in the nation. In his role, Roy was responsible for overseeing 3,500 employees in eight divisions within the district which include facilities planning, construction, maintenance, custodial operations, energy management, food services, transportation and purchasing and handled all real estate acquisitions.

  • Aaron Jobson

    VICE CHAIR

    CEO and President — Quattrocchi Kwok Architects

    With more than 20 years of Architectural experience, Aaron has worked with numerous school facilities across all grade levels and school types, ranging from Facilities Master Planning and new campus development to building transformations and critical modernizations. A skilled communicator, Aaron excels in active listening and the ability to clearly explain complex ideas, problems, and solutions. Additionally, Aaron is also one of the creators of Folia, a prefabricated, two-story, steel classroom building that dramatically reduces design, permitting, and construction time.

  • Irene Nigaglioni

    TREASURER

    Founder — IN2 Architecture

    Irene offers varied experience in educational and institutional facilities. Her experience in the design of academic facilities ranges from renovation to new construction. As President of IN2 Architecture, Irene is involved in all aspects of a project, including visioning, programming, master planning, schematic design, design development, construction documents and contract administration.   • John Sumlin

    SECRETARY

    Vice president, Educational Strategic Accounts — Tarkett

    In his position, John leads the strategic direction for Southeast and Mid- South regions for all Higher Education and K-12 sales for the Tarkett brand, including Johnsonite, Tandus Centiva and Desso. This includes strategic market penetration and assessment, national trade association leadership, national speaker, contract negotiation and deployment, marketing deployment and strategic growth within the education markets.

  • Arnel Catalan

    Associate Principal — Mount Vernon Group Architects

    Arnel is a member of the Boston Society of Architects with 20 years of diversified experience and project lead: Technical Architect, Project Manager, Sustainable Manager, and Specifier of sustainable materials. As MVG's Green Building Executive, he oversees the sustainable design and certification of high-performance buildings. His leadership and experience resulted to projects receiving multiple awards and highest recognition for sustainability.

  • Christos Chrysiliou

    Chief Eco-Sustainability Officer — Los Angeles Unified School District (CA)

    LAUSD is the 2nd largest School District in the Nation with 13,500 buildings located at 1,270 schools and centers. As the Chief Eco-Sustainability Officer, Christos is responsible for the development and implementation of sustainable and renewable energy initiatives with the goal of reducing the District’s carbon and water footprint.

  • John Zinner

    Principal and Senior Advisor — ZC Sustainability

    John founded Zinner Consultants in 1990 and served as its principal until it was folded into ZCS in 2021. He brings clients a broad sustainability and green building perspective as well as experience in policy development, entitlement support, project and program planning, and project management. His leadership has been recognized through numerous awards, including LEED Fellow, he has lectured nationwide before professional, university, and public audiences, and he has been interviewed on Good Morning America.

  • Dr. Erika Eitland

    Co-Director of the Human Experience Lab — Perkins&Will

    Dr. Eitland is Perkins&Will’s first public health scientist on staff. She is also the director of the firm’s Human Experience Lab, which focuses on research in support of holistically healthy design.

  • Amy Cortese

    Director of Programs — New Buildings Institute

    Amy has been involved in sustainable design consulting and implementation of energy efficiency market transformation approaches for over 20 years. She is responsible for managing implementation teams covering all aspects of NBI’s work.

  • Carolyn Sarno-Goldthwaite

    Principal — Energy Mavens Consulting; Vice President, Customer Engagement — ClearlyEnergy

    Carolyn is an expert in advanced building projects, building energy codes, and high-performance buildings. She previously served as the Senior Director of Advanced Efficiency Solutions at the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships.

  • Andrew McAllister

    Commissioner — California Energy Commission

    At the Energy Commission, Andrew leads the policy area of energy efficiency, including the Building Energy Efficiency Standards, appliance efficiency, and load management and flexibility. More broadly, he is focused on enabling modern, data-rich analytical tools to support strong clean energy policy development and program implementation.

  • Lauren Westmoreland

    Vice President, Energy and Sustainability — Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future

    Lauren Westmoreland leads SAHF’s environmental initiatives, including the Bringing Sustainability Home (BSH), a cross-cutting energy and health initiative that aims to ensure that low-income residents and communities have equal access to critical environmental and health benefits.

  • Mike Wilson

    Director of Facilities — Warren County Public School (KY)

    As a native of Warren County and a graduate of Warren County Public Schools, Wilson has a desire to see the students of the district grow academically, athletically, and socially. To this end, he strives to see that the Facilities Department delivers exceptional service to all 16,000 plus students and the 2,500 adults who serve them each day. His wide range of work experiences help him meet and exceed expectations daily.
