The innovative Honouliuli Middle School (Hawaii) has earned CHPS Verified status, becoming the first whole campus to reach that distinction in the state.

Designed by lead architect Ferraro Choi in partnership with Miller Hull, the school was built in three phases. The first opened for the 2020-21 school year and included an administration building, library, cafeteria, classrooms, covered and open play courts, and a music building. Phase 2 included a second 3-story classroom building and soccer fi eld. Phase 3 included a third 3-story classroom building, PE/Locker-Shower facilities and a softball field.

The campus features many elements (see graphic below) designed to ensure sustainability and a healthy learning environment to give students the best opportunity to succeed. For more details on this project, visit Ferraro Choi’s project page here.
